Symptoms of Mesothelioma

Rare forms of mesothelioma

Pericardial mesothelioma is an extremely rare type of heart tumor; it often involves the pericardium and it is caused by a primitively pleural malignant mesothelioma. The pericardial mesothelioma is generally discovered at a very advanced stage, through an ultrasound, which is usually conducted to investigate signs and symptoms of a reduced cardiac contractility. The course of this illness is ill-fated, and treatment cannot positively affect survival time. Literature has also shown some rare cases of testicular and ovary mesothelioma, both with a serious prognosis. The etiology of the few cases of infantile mesothelioma is not clear and its relation to the exposure to asbestos is poorly documented and therefore non credible. Therapy and prognosis may vary from individual to individual.
